What Is the SAT?

The SAT is a standardized exam used for undergraduate college admissions in the US and increasingly accepted worldwide. Scores range from 400–1600, and a strong result can unlock scholarships and open doors at elite institutions. The exam moved to a fully digital, adaptive format in 2024 — making smart strategy more important than ever.

Module 2 Adjusts to You

Module 2 difficulty is set by your Module 1 performance. Performing well in Module 1 routes you to higher-ceiling questions — and a higher possible score.

Total Score

400–1600 · Offered 7× Per Year

The full exam runs 2 hours 14 minutes. Students can retake and submit their best score to most universities, giving you multiple chances to hit your target.

The Jedi Method

Most SAT prep is inefficient — students re-study material they already know and run practice tests without diagnosing why they miss questions. Neil's approach is surgical, targeted, and relentlessly gap-focused.

01

Diagnostic Assessment

We start with a full-length diagnostic to map exactly where you are — section by section, question type by question type. No assumptions, just data.

02

Gap Identification

Neil analyzes your error patterns — is it a knowledge gap, a timing issue, a careless habit, or a strategy problem? The diagnosis determines the plan.

03

Targeted Coaching

Every session focuses on your weak points only. No time wasted revisiting concepts you already understand — every minute moves your score forward.

04

Adaptive Test Strategy

For the digital adaptive SAT, maximizing Module 1 performance is critical. Neil teaches smart pacing, question management, and adaptive-specific strategy.

Backed by 15+ Years of Results

Neil Chakraborty has spent over 15 years helping students achieve dramatic SAT score gains — consistently delivering 100–150 point improvements through precisely targeted, diagnostic-driven coaching.

His approach rests on a powerful insight: most students don't miss SAT questions because they aren't smart enough — they miss them because a specific concept or strategy hasn't clicked yet. Neil finds that gap and fixes it, properly.

Beyond test prep, Neil is an Adjunct Professor at Seneca Polytechnic and has spent 25+ years in research and analytics, including at the University of Toronto. His students have gone on to Harvard, Stanford, Yale, UPenn, UChicago, Northwestern, UC Berkeley, and more.

SAT Tutoring FAQ

How many sessions will I need to see improvement?
Most students see meaningful score improvements within 8–12 weeks of consistent sessions. The exact number depends on your starting score, your target, and how frequently we meet. After your diagnostic assessment Neil will give you a realistic, honest timeline — no inflated package upselling.
Do you tutor in-person or online?
Both. Neil tutors students in-person in Toronto and the GTA, and online worldwide via video call. The approach and results are equally strong in both formats.
What score improvement can I realistically expect?
On average, Neil's students achieve 100–150 point SAT improvements. Results vary based on the student's starting point, commitment to practice between sessions, and the time available before test day. Students who start further from their target and commit to regular practice tend to see the largest gains.
How is this different from an SAT prep course or book?
Courses and books cover everything for everyone. Neil covers exactly what you need — no more, no less. Every session is built around your error patterns from the diagnostic and subsequent practice. That targeted efficiency is why Neil's students consistently outperform those who relied on self-study or generic programs.
When should my student start SAT prep?
Ideally 3–6 months before the target test date. This allows enough time for genuine skill-building rather than cramming. For students aiming at top US universities, starting in Grade 10 or early Grade 11 gives the most flexibility to sit the test multiple times.
Do you also help with the ACT, GRE, and GMAT?
Yes. In addition to the SAT, Neil tutors the ACT (averaging 5–10 point gains), GRE, and GMAT (averaging 70–100 point improvements). If you're unsure whether the SAT or ACT is better suited for your student, Neil can advise during the free consultation.
